2010 Review

On behalf of everyone involved in making Lufkin Hamfest 2010 a reality, thank you for your kind words. Additional recognition must go to the Pastor and staff of Lufkin First Church of the Nazarene for their active and enthusiastic support of our activities. Without their facilities Lufkin Hamfest 2010 would not have been possible. Special thanks go Eugene “Gene” Clay, KE5JEU. He was the church “inside man” (he had the keys), knew the location of everything and provided tireless assistance in resolving our facility needs.

Mark Lacy, W5TXR, owner and operator of Lone Star Communications and Electronics, LLC was our grand prize contributor as well as a contributor of several great door prizes. BatteryTech Store provides our ongoing opportunity to purchase rechargeable batteries and/or chargers for almost any application with free shipping and no Texas sales tax. The ARRL provided four publications, one CD ROM and $150 in gift certificates for ARRL publications.

Local business that contributed fabulous door prizes were: Academy Sports and Outdoors, Belk Department Store, Home Depot Inc., Lowe’s of Lufkin, Sam’s Club, and Tractor Supply.

There are numerous unnamed others that contributed time and effort; many of whom were volunteers from DETARC and NARC and some I did not recognize. It is unfortunate, but only in the film industry does everyone receive credit. So, to everyone – workers, vendors and participants alike – thanks for making Lufkin Hamfest 2010 a success.

May your antennas be high, SWR low, and radials – many.
